Today was good. Aside from the regular daily activities, the team got a chance to have lunch with the Pastor of one of the local congregations. He and his family have been here for just under two years and they hold their Sunday Service in the conference room of a local hotel. The band actually had the opportunity to lead worship at this service this past Sunday. With that, it was really nice to spend time with someone who has devoted their life and their family to this greater purpose.
After lunch, we grabbed some vegetarian ice cream and stopped by the book store. (I’m currently reading “Mere Christianity” by C.S. Lewis, about to start “Dreams of My Father” by Barak Obama, and I picked up “The Fifth Mountain” by Paolo Cuehlo today.) Then we headed for the Red Shift Cafe where we were scheduled to perform.
Tonight’s performance was great! The coffee shop was packed (approximately 60+ people) and everyone got into the bands cover of “Chasing Cars” by Snow Patrol. After De La Paz finished their set, a P.O.D. Cover band (lead singer pictured above) called Transit Point took stage and really rocked the place! The best thing about the show was that there were a lot of people there who we had met at previous shows who had come back to meet up with us again.
All in, it was a great day. God is good.
Until next time,
Omar
