This morning’s service was awesome! The team led music and this was part two of the pastor’s series on “What to do with the Youth?” It really was a great sermon on how we are all responsible for the youth in our society whether we have kids or not… And he related everything back to the story of Jonah! Very cool.
After service, we headed to the same restaurant as last Sunday and I was able to get another plateful of the boiled squid! So delicious!
After lunch, it was back to the church where Ross and I participated in the “Effective Communication” course for Parents and Teens. This was really cool… After a joint session, they groups were split with the parents downstairs and the teens upstairs so that each group could ask questions more candidly. I went with the teen group and the discussion was really good. In general, the teens really do wish they could relate to their parents more and vice-versa, but the major question seems to be “Where do we start?” Though I’m no psychologist, I firmly believe that all healthy relationships start with a persons’ willingness to be vulnerable to the other party, regardless of fact that they may hurt you. “Dance like nobody’s watching, love like you’ve never been hurt.”
At around 7:00pm, I went for a 4-mile run, without stopping to walk! I really am feeling great! I’ll try to do it again tomorrow.
(Today’s pic is another from yesterday’s youth day, many of the same people from today’s talk… Our team name was the “Kung Fu Panda and the Furious Five”).
God is good, God is love, God has a plan!
Until next time,
